Sometimes, as an archaeologist, you just find things that make you smile. This is a tile, in the Musee de Sens (Yonne, France). It was meant to have a regular shape, and then nature interfered. I don’t know whether this is a dog or a fox or something else. But I do suspect that it wasn’t expected to leave its marks on the tiles that had just been given their amazingly regular shape and were drying before going to the oven. But funny, yes.
